My name is Tiffany Liou and I am a Taiwanese-American journalist from the Bay Area, California.
I've had the honor of telling stories across the country, working in newsrooms in California, Louisiana, Iowa, Oklahoma and Texas. One of my most memorable experiences was when I traveled to Haiti as a solo-journalist for the 8th anniversary of the 7.0 earthquake. I enterprised the story, finding a local connection to an international crisis. In 2019, I won an Emmy award for the piece. I believe a person can never stop learning. I learn from the people I meet on stories every day. I involve myself in journalism organizations, conferences and workshops to continually develop my skills. I also mentor young journalists, as my longtime mentors continue to mentor me. Being a journalist is a privilege, as people are trusting us to share their honest stories. |
